... Youngmi from the bus station and she came to pick us up. We
managed to fit all our bags in her small car and all 3 of us squashed into the
back seat, our bags were taking up another 2 seats. We went to get some dinner
at a place Youngmi suggested that has acorn food. We started off with a an
acorn salad and acorn jelly slabs along with the normal Korean side dishes.
Followed by an acorn pancake, then a big dish of noodles with acorns cooked at

Skiing and Snowboarding in Yong Pyong Resort

My next stop in Korea was Yong Pyong, the biggest ski resort. It was a contender for the 2014 Winter Olympics and lost only by several votes. I had booked a hostel for about $10 per night, which turned out to be very nice. The room was for 19 people but most of the time I was either alone or with a couple other women. The hostel was 10 min walking from the ski runs.

... I willing to recall these painful and evil memories for only a man of the North Eastern lands could have survived such a tyrant; but take heart for first I must tell you of my first days in the town of Gangneung, my new home.
