... lost when a bridge was washed away, judging by the picture on the stained glass window. Enough room for four people to sit on either side of a small altar. Our kind of church! Further along we came across a small cafe, literally in the middle of nowhere, so felt compelled to stop for a cuppa. There was one man and his dog there and the drinks were only luke warm, but he did give us a photo album to look at that told the story of various washouts since the 1870's and their ...

... the next bus arrives. Nevertheless, as things quieted down it was the perfect time and place for us to grab lunch and rest up a bit.

Hallstatt for us too would only be a waypoint on a longer journey halfway across Austria to Vienna that same night. What I will leave you with however is the beauty of the place, or at least what I could catch of it in my photos. Enjoy the virtual vacation and I will see you next in ...

... lake (Schwarzensee) at 716 m. A small and pretty lake that freezes over in winter. Trail fairly level round the lake and up to an open moor type area, then headed down through an amazing gorge that had rivers entering from all directions. Would be quite spectacular when the snow was melting in spring. Descent was very steep, but only for a short distance, then levelled out. Ended up at another lake (Attersee) at about 470m. This is ...

... this has become somewhat of an annual pilgrimage, usually to the Istrian peninsula and Rovinj which we love, but this year we have decided to venture a little further afield and take the coast road as far south as Dubrovnik, poking our nose into Montenegro to visit another of the 14 villages in Europe called Malta and then making our way back overland through part ...
