... We found our hostel (50% more expensive than expected; standard in Argentina) and settled in before exploring the town - not much to see really, although the main reason we are here is to visit nearby Welsh-settled town of Gaiman.

... I'm flying today from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires via Trelew and then continuing early tomorrow morning to Asuncion, Paraguay. I asked the agent at bag drop if I could check my large suitcase all the way through to ASU but he said that wasn’t possible for an overnight connection. He could only check it to EZE today and I’ll need to pick it up there, take it to my hotel, then recheck it again tomorrow. Ugh. That is a pain. ...
... sun. After chatting with an enthusiastic lady from Buenos Aires who wanted to hear about my trip so far I wandered up the beach towards the diving stalls as Rachel, Mel, Ollier and Jessie had all raved about diving with sea lions here.
I was intending to go on Sunday but the guy raved about the weather forecast so much for Saturday that I gave in and signed up for the next day, it cost more than I expected but sounded amazing. After that I gave in and retreated back ...

Once we got to Trelew though a few things scuppered these plans....
- it was very cold in Trelew. In fact it pretty much snowed for 3 days, proper blizzards. We even managed to make a snowman!
- as it was cold and off season, nothing was really open. Desolate towns, closed tourist attractions, empty restaurants.
- the wildlife was also on hols. No penguins (we were a month ...
... landed in 1865 – didn’t see Glyn’s name there but plenty of Jones, Thomas and Davies. We then visited a cool Eco centre and enjoyed tea and Bara Brith (Welsh cake) as well as learning about Whales, Dolphins etc. We left Puerto Madryn and drove to Trelew and onto the small Welsh village of Gaiman and as usual a great tourist information and another lovely cabin with terrible mosquitos and a mad puppy to play with.
