... for the past week!!!
The next day we just did pretty much the same had a mooch about and a walk down to the harbour and Ian was playing doctor and looking after me making me rest all the time so that I did not get tired. Spent the evening watching the crazy american sit coms again and eating buns that Ian made with cheese and salami on god feel like a right lazy sod but cant do much as my head just goes dizzy and funny.
... br>We then drove over to Krk Island to the resort of Baška... as I said before there were only 2 campsites and the one with shade was a naturists one so we thought ahh, why not. Hmmm, it was an experience.... there are some things you just dont need to see which is namely fat naked men with their things flapping around in the wind. We got brave enough to bare all on the beach but I couldnt quite get to walking around ...
Still at the lake this morning, filling up the water, having a quick breakfast, taking last pics of this lovely place and bye. We are off to the Snežnik castle, check the pics.
Sneznik Castle - really nice building in the middle of woods, very well preserved, all newly renovated. Here we sould like to thank again to the lovely crazy man for telling us about this place. We don't ...
... a castle on the top of a hill. There are 560 stairs to get up to it. Needless to say, I stopped and rested several times on that trip. But...not much else to do, except the hostel has TV!!!!! In English! Alot of channels. And CNN! My first in months and months. And wifi is good too. So I am studying up on the Slov history. Is very interesting.
Sorry, too dark for any good pictures, but here are a few attempts. This place is HUGE, with awesome, massive caverns that blow your mind, very impressive and interesting. The remains of the original internal stairs are visible in many spots, built by the original explorers ...
Skocjan, Divača, Slovenia stevelegassick... hotel as it must have been in its heyday, it must have been quite an amazing place. Opatija is also dotted with wonderfully grand old buildings as this was the playground of the rich and famous, it must have been fun!
That evening we sat at the waterside in a lovely open air restaurant and sampled some delicious Croatian wine and food, one of Annie's favourite, fresh Tuna.
... each other. I received a wonderful bracelet, and a whole bunch of other presents from Jess, a beautiful sketch of Split from Cameron and Jean a brilliant travelling towel shaped like a dolphin from Georgie and a note book from Maggie. The girls hadn't noticed yet the big presents from Santa - each of them received an iPod, which they were over the moon about. Cameron made a delicious home-cooked hot breakfast of eggs ...
