The
attractive beach front of the Surfers Paradise beach is lined with
restaurants, cafes, night clubs and accommodation sites. As the name
suggests, Surfers Paradise beach lends itself to surfing, wake
boarding, and jet-skiing. Beach volley ball is a popular beach sport as
well.

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India techielearner... day we took a day trip to Sanchi to see Buddhist stupas from the 2nd century BC. The bus station in Bhopal was a gong show, but we did manage to end up with seats on the Sanchi bus (that's probably where every tourist goes from Bhopal). The roads in this part of India are not that great, so traveling the 50km took a very long time. But the stupas, their amazingly intricate gates ...

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India el8... with the switch. Then around midnight I think I heard someone knocking on my door, can't know for sure, there's always so much noise in this country, but then someone actually tried to open the door! I yelled and nothing happened after that. I think it's a staff member trying to get me to turn off the light, but let me tell you I stayed awake as long as I could and read until 2am and checked out the next morning. Moved to another hotel not ...

Sundervan, India mayliWe decided to catch an early bus from Sanchi and spend the day looking around Bhopal, shouldn't have bothered really. The bus took a different route back which was a much better road and more pleasant scenery. The bus station was the usual chaos we've come to love and respect with rickshaw drivers fighting for our services, we agreed on a price with a driver in the station but when we went to the rickshaws Annette got in the wrong one creating all sorts of ...
Bhopal, India prbrown... Vidisha, we were now on the worst road I've ever travelled on. A new concrete road was under construction and large crowds were watching the concrete mixer, some had even brought chairs to watch. Women were working ahead of the concrete on their hands and knees with little brooms, it's like industrialisation meets the stone age. Women seem to do lots of little jobs like this, they must come very cheap, while the blokes stand around. Eventually we came to a T-junction which ...
Sanchi, India prbrown... associate professor of sociology - with excellent English. One was married recently - through an arranged marriage - the other was desperately trying to stay single (wants to follow in Mother Theresa's steps and give herself to helping other people). Struggling to sometimes understand their accents (and their Hinglish which they spoke to each other - many well-educated people speak a mix of the two languages at the same time, interchanging every few words - sounds hilarious), we talked ...
