Well judging by the additional few chest hairs that have recently sprouted, I must be a year older. I turned 27 today and I must admit, I don't really feel any different. I don't feel older, just strange to think that I am actually 27 and another year closer to the big 3 0. I still love to joke around with Chelsea about how old I am and how young she is, but I guess she is right, 27 is not that old, and she is also right in that I certainly don't act like I am 27 (is that a good thing?). Than...
Santiago, Chile chuckonearthAnd now we´re finally caught up to the present! Today we explored Santiago. A city Lea again delcared she liked better than BA. Our hotel here is verry nice, very swank, and very low on airconditionning. After our breakfasts we headed out to the local craft area, Centro Artesnal Santa Lucia. We got there when only about half the stores were open but still managed to do some serious damage there! After that we walked around this beautiful public park at the top of a hill which appeard to be a ...

... of the same family that started it. We had a couple of tastes (four or five well-filled glasses) and then went with Matias (Caro's dad´s friend) around the countryside through the vines themselves. It was soo cool to see on one side the mountain, on the other the city and running through the middle the thousands of plants. He explained to us the different types of wine and we even got to try some wine making grapes! Next stop, Lakes crossing and finally... Argentina!
Santiago, Chile spog00... neighborhoods, we had pretty much decided that Providencia is where we wanted to live... we spent quite a bit of time figuring out which bus lines reached Michael's colegio in Vitacura out east, and which metro lines reached my instituto in La Florida down south. We tried each route and checked out the schools... which were both great... We headed to the mall ...
---------- In my previous post about Santiago, I was telling you that it was almost Europe but didn't explain why. First, I was coming ...
Santiago, Chile terredeshommes... Buenos Aires and as luck had it, by the time we had cleared immigration and waited around for the missing rucksack, the next flight had landed, and I caught sight of my bag moving slowly round the luggage belt - to say that I was very happy is a bit of an understatement.... Gonzalo met us at the airport and it was really nice to see a face we knew, and we are staying in his most fantastic top floor apartment for a few days before ...
Santiago, Chile dawnandphill... to the hostel as he kept popping out to the local bottle store to keep us topped up. I think that he and Kate were trying to numb the pain of the long long long long flight back to Adelaide that they had before them! Sadly, my photo card on my little camera has acquired a virus so I can't add photos in for this entry until I get back to the UK and sort that out
Santiago, Chile nixbToday we took the bus to Santiago. It was an absolutely gorgeous drive in the mountains (with eternal snow at the top), you could see loads of horses on the way (paradis pour Clem , Van et Dom). The border crossing was in the mountains, in the middle of nowhere. We finally arrived in Santiago, looks pretty nice, but we start to feel to much of the traveller ...

That evening we crossed town by metro to eat at Liguria in Provendencia, which was very nice.
