We arrived in Hiroshima and it was raining. It is rainy season here in Japan and although we've hardly had blue skies, the grey haze has protected us from the possible heat from the sun. It's bad already with the humidity here that is pretty strong. We've been sweating like crazy! Hiroshima is best known for being the first place ever to be hit by an atomic bomb. On August 6, 1945 At 8:15am. Hiroshima was destroyed. Just like Nagasaki, Hiroshima has a memorial park and museum. ...

We laid on black sand, then the ladies there covered us up to our necks ...

... are a few ruins, in particular, the remains of a castle wall and moat but when we went in the gate, we found the inside was used as a car park with a couple of posts providing details of its past glories.

One of the things that did amuse us was the tune being played at one of the pedestrian crossings. The sounds used at the crossings are generally like chirping birds, with the chirps becoming increasingly frantic as your time to get to the other side runs out (they ...

We've had an amazingly epic adventure and are feeling very mixed emotions! Our last day was as extreme as Japan seems to be. The hotel owner very kindly offered us a five minute drive to see Mount Fuji this morning before we headed off to tokyo. An extraordinary mountain and active volcano which last erupted in 1708. It has quite an impact with its beautiful curving sides and ...
