    ... Of course I stopped here
    and took a few shots.
    Onwards up this pass there are old lookout points and castles with cannons
    set at them etc. These must have been in place to protect the border from Italy
    or vise versa.
    By late afternoon the weather had changed for the better and the sun was
    shining. The temp fell as low as 8 today but was now way up at 15 Celsius once
    again so was just great.

    ... does not work. We were depending on this for communication with friends and for bookings so we have decided to leave earlier and will move to Salzburg next Tuesday for 4 nights and then to Budapest for extra two days before the Danube cruise on the 19th.     Dam just a short run from base and we passed some amazing waterfalls and arrived with not another person around - not a bad thing to be alone when you are stood on a glass platform at 200m. Back into Gmund for a look around the Porche Museum and town, quick bite to eat with a rather indulgent Iced Coffee.
