Oct 2: Today we make our way from the castles back to Munich. It was only a 3 hour drive but it felt very long because there was so much construction on the autobahn. At one point there was construction and an accident so everybody on the autobahn had to slam on their brakes to stop. We were going around 20 creeping up to the traffic and our fancy car decided that we were getting to close to the car ahead of it so on its own it slammed on its breaks ...

... bus for short trip to old town for a beer fest evening in local beer hall. Had a wonderful time, band consisting of singer, accordionist, bass player, pianist, 2 brass players who doubled as woodwind players as well. They were great, playing a number of old instruments as well. Alpine horns, dulcimer, bottles, broomstick and another incredibly old woodwind instrument which was pretty horrible actually. The compare was very good, also sang a bit. ...

... the end of it (that is definitely not true). It was fun hey. So after retiring to one of the famous Munchen beers gardens for my first taste of real German bratwurst and a beer (which finally took the edge of my hangover), I waited for the sun to set so I could see all of the pretty buildings lit up at night, and then went back to the hostel and met with the San Fransiscan guys from last night, who were slaughtered having been at a football game during the day. Our favourite pavilion was the octagonal shaped Pagodenburg, built in 1716.... a small, unique and beautifully proportioned two storey building.
