... so quickly. Neuschwanstein castle was first on our German itinerary. This castle was built by Ludwig II,the crazy king who only spent 170 nights in his palace. It was built just above the grounds where he had spent his childhood summers. The castle was never finished because the good king was declared crazy and dethroned...2 days later his body was found floating in a local lake. ... had half a day left. Off again ... This time I walked. Had to keep the Munich brochure so I get the names right. Then found the 'surfing' bridge. See the next entry. Got so lost on the way back. This involved several hours you have to understand. It was now nearing 5pm. Best chance for directions was a shop, I thought . So into one I went. Two lovely young men ... After a final breakfast and a happy goodbye, we caught our train to munich. This did not go as planned. The fast train somehow broke down and we were stationary for about 30mins before being towed to the nearest station where the technicians were going to come to assess whether the train would be able to continue, or whether passengers would need to find alternative trains. After waiting about 5mins ...

... of the emotions I felt and exactly what I wanted to write have taken place over a view days. My final words if you visit Munich, take the time to visit Dachau. Yes it is a rather sobering experience but one I think we all need to experience to see what can happen and to stop such atrocities happening again.
