    ... on. Ended up being at the motel and booked in by 3:30pm. Despite the cool conditions and drizzle three of us went in search of our favourite post-ride treat, yoghurt/icecream. Mission completed, but we were soon back in our warm, dry rooms. We mall ventured out again at 6pm for an Indian dinner, which was our pick. It was very yummy, some of the best Indian food ever.     ... the city skyline, sits on a prominent site that dates back to 1000BC. Its latest "makeover was in 1631 when Gustav Adolf of Sweden expanded a castle into a Baroque fortress with royal gardens. It is the largest fort/castle in southern Germany. The fortress now houses two fine museums also. We ran out of time for the museums but was able to fit in a guided tour of the Fort, including the ancient well (105m deep!), the chapel, keep and a short section of the 18km ...

    ... band but actually a torture device, consisting of an iron cabinet with a hinged front and spike-covered interior, sufficiently tall to enclose a human being. There was even a cage in which they put bakers in that made their bread too small and dipped them in the river. The museum was fascinating and disturbing. We enjoyed it.
