I want to go back to Boonville just to stay here again. The staff, the food, the spacious rooms with fabulous old furniture...one of my favorite hotels, ever. They do a wonderful job of taking care of their guests and especially Katy cyclists.

I rode my bike to the site but didn't stay long because as Lewis noted in his journal "the mosquitoes were most troublesome". I was still very glad to get some pedal time on this section of the Katy.
It was late when I returned to Rocheport and drove a few more miles to spend the night near Boonville MO.

If you are ever in this area, take the time to visit Warm Springs. The tour is very interesting and the horses are great. For as large as they are they are very gentle. We got very close to some of them and even got to pet them. After the tour, everyone of age gets a sample of beer. I even tried it, you know "When in Rome." Did not change my opinion of beer, still ...
