... The brain and the feet hit overload so we trekked back across the river, passing through the high end shopping district and onto the Mercato Centrale for a mid afternoon lunch. We bypassed the houses of Ferragamo, Gucci and Puccini. Paige's €5 scarf remains our one Florence purchase! Getting into the groove with sightseeing early, late lunch, siesta and dinner in the evenings. We are now looking forward to picking up the car tomorrow ...

... had a look at a fine Stradivari violin from 1617. Very fine workmanship. There were other pieces in this small gallery but they paled against the 'David' it was well worth the €15 entry and would pay to see it again.

... speak any english, we all managed to order our dinner. I had a pappardelle ragu (it was tasty but not as tasty as Linda's spaghetti bolognaise), Net had a seafood risotto, and the boys had a pizza and calzone. We then had lunch at an Italian restaurant. Lunch consisted of brushetta, and main dish, and dessert. Lauren penne pasta and cream. I had a spaghetti with a spicy marinara sauce. For dessert Lauren had some Panna Cotta which is kind of like a whipped cream/ cheesecake with chocolate topping. I had a flaming creme brulee. Both were delicious!
