... the ancient bridge which is lined with jewellery shops - which we walked straight past! The Duomo building is really impressive as are loads of the building here. Beautiful architecture is everywhere you look. We knew we didn't really have time to do Florence justice it was just a taster really. None of us are massive fans of art museums so we decided to use our time to wander about and just be in Florence rather than go into the museums... maybe next ...

... that some local girls showed us and that was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten for sure. At this point the guys I was with wanted to keep looking at the churches, but I was burnt out from standing in line for so long, so Amaris and I met up with Julia and walked around, looked at the leather market again, and I got some Italian leather boots! ... coffee on the piazza di singoria - I scowled like a proper bloody Italian as it was 1.1€ at the bar!! Tsk... Then we were off to the ufizzi via a service entrance where we didn't even get a security check, after the mafia blew a big chunk of it up in the 90's you'd have thought they'd have checked. We were in a little before it opened and I have to say I've got to the "oh, lovely, another Michelangelo/Leonardo/Raphael/Botticell i..." Stage. I do like the ...

Finding Florence

A travel blog entry by calmckee on Apr 04, 2014

... to go and see the statue of David by Michelangelo. The rest of the gallery was pretty boring but at least we snuck a few pics of the statue before we left. We then moved on to the Duomo. We got in line to climb the dome for just under 2 hours. The view from up top was beautiful. Was definitely worth the wait! We knew that when Jersey Shore had come to Italy for one season they lived in Florence so we wanted to hit up some spots that were featured. We went ...
