We crossed over the bridge to the south side of the St Lawrence River and headed east to pick up Hwy 132, which does a complete loop of the Gaspe Peninsula. As we headed south east the road follows the Matapedia River through the “Valley”. This river is a famous Salmon River that is known for its large Atlantic Salmon. ... out to it. We were able to hike to the lookout and see Perce Rock on yet another beautiful Fall day. The south side of the Gaspe is gentler sloping country, farms, fishing and beaches but as we went to the north side we discovered a much ruggeder coastline.
