... our own with really so i have put up some photos and put out our coconut monkey.

i got a package earlier form my mum, which was great, new pants!amazing! we have also washed our clothes in a washing machine, luxury.no more sink washes for me!

eddi has been great today, bought us some groceries, been chatty and so helpful. i am so tired. so this blog is probably ****.

but we are here. so the next chapter begins!

... Surfing here was only accessible by the ultra experienced or slightly insane. We were enticed into ordering fish and chips after a restaurant owner brought us out a fresh plate of fish to look at which had been caught from the ocean just hours before. We went for the grilled large red snapper, served whole in a garlic sauce, accompanied with a few chips. It wasn’t very filling but it was very tasty.

... to make the best of a non-sunning day, a trip to the nearby city of Galle seemed appropriate. For 100 Rs an autorickshaw deposited us two kilometres north at the Hikkaduwa railway station. Tickets on 2nd Class (best available) were all of 40 Rs each, and the train would leave in about an hour. We tried in vain to find a cup of tea while waiting, apparently it dries up after 9 am.

... turn the Air-con down- it was freezing. Every half hour the driver would stop and wipe down the windscreen as he couldn't see out of it due to the aircon fogging it up. I tried again suggesting he turn it off and got to reply "about 2 hours, yes it is a nice van, 5 rupees"???? We got to our accommodation around 5am, after traveling 12 1/2 hours, and sitting in airports for another 6 hours.
