    ... the ceilings. The biggest attraction in Luxembourg is the casemates. Luxembourg had one of the best fortresses in all of Europe in the 17th through 19th centuries. The underground galleries were 23 km long and in some areas were 40 meters below ground. In the late 1800s the fortress was destroyed, but 17km of casemates till exist under the city.     I returned from Ireland to Almere for exactly three days before I was off on my next adventure. Adia's grandparents were still staying with us, which was lovely.     ... off - we were living on the edge, it's a long time since we traveled without any reservations made in advance, as we weren't entirely sure of our movements until after the trip had finished. We went to the same hotel we researched before we left, and they shuffled some rooms and fitted us in. It's a small room, but a great location on the main street about half way between the old town and the train station.
