We skipped the museum but went to see the show. It was light on the actual dancing – there was a presenter who spent a lot of time explaining each individual element – but still fun. The dance is accompanied by a simple repetitive piece of music played on shamisen, flute, drums and a small cymbal, which can be sped up or slowed down.

A strange day to do a walk for no reason. Cloudy with the sun threatening to burst through I started on the first five temples of the famous 88 temple walk.
