Tony and I enjoy a good meal and what a discovery we made today in Georgetown. Our newfound friends in Penang, the Galang's, kept referring to a Mr. Loh and his fabulous food. I googled his Little Kitchen @ Nyonya and our curiosity peaked.

The taxi delivered us to this unimpressive looking place amidst rundown shophouses. I double checked the address to ascertain we were in the right place. It turns out this is Mr. Loh's ancestral 2 story ...

She said it was for a festival that started tomorrow and that we should come back to visit them in the morning. Strolling around, we took in the sights, sounds and smells, and it was literally like stepping into another country. Indian ...

... cartoonish figures of Budha in various repose. The main one being the huge lying down Budha. This one symbolizes the death of Budha, in a way (still researching). This temple is also a crematorium with many urns and pictures of the deceased, etc. I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the reason the lying down Buddha is the prominent one is because this is a memorial temple ... crematorium. But I can't say that with any authority.
