... trains to Thailand (next on our list) we paid our $0.30 to get the ferry across to Georgetown itself. From there it was a 25 minute walk through the narrow streets full of wall art and sculptures, to our hotel for the night. We’d arrived earlier than expected (due to a new road out of Tanah Rata the trip takes 4 hours, as opposed to 6 hours) it was lunchtime, so we set out in search of some of legendary food. ... to Surat Thani to get the 4pm ferry to Koh Tao. We left at 8:30 so bags of time.

Until the bus broke down!!

Eventually a new bus came and we were on our way but we literally only made it to the ferry with minutes to spare. They were already boarding and we still had to get our tickets and make it down the very long jetty.

At the hotel we could buy instant noodles ( we ...

Hello sweethearts... Me again, waiting at yet another bus terminal... It's almost 3pm and my bus is at "midday". Lucky I have a blog to write to kill some time eh? Georgetown was really nice. Unfortunately, being Chinese new year, a lot of places were closed, but due to my tiredness it allowed me to rest a little more than I might have if things were open. My bus journey here took just over 6 hrs, thankfully with a bus changeover (and loo break) ...

... Ohhh we knew we would be playing the waiting game. Eventually, we managed to depart from Thailand but we still had the Malaysia immigration to do. We were praying it was not going to be as bad as the Thailand one. Luck was on our side as we sailed through getting our passport stamps and putting our luggage through the x-ray machine. Hello Malaysia!! I was now in the same country as my brother! We hopped back onto the bus and began our ...
