So after a year or so of saving, months of planning and days of packing etc we're finally on our way. First exciting stop - Avalon Airport! We were afforded the small privelige of exit aisle seats (hopefully a sign of good things to come!) for our flight to Sydney and walking onto the plane from the tarmac (feels like we're at Adelaide International) we say bon- voyage! The ritzy Hotel Formule 1 is where the first night of the honeymoon is spent. For the princely sum of $84 we enjoyed all the...

Called into the Murray Esplanade Cellars to try their 'country cream'-"some say it's better than Bailey's". Not being a regular drinker of Baileys its hard to say, but I think it's different, not better. It had some coconut flavour in it.
The MEC has a great range of wines, even some from Bordeaux.
Wisteria Cafe for lunch. Nice sandndwiches, lovely ambience.

... literature. The local expert recommended that we camped down on Ninety Mile Beach for the night at a free camping area. We headed down there found a quite spot and parked up. As soon as we opened the campervan door we were straight under attack from some huge mosquito's. We spent the evening making sure we removed them all from the van, by the roof looked like a killing field with dead bodies and blood splatters everywhere.

Also today I did some job searching online and it looks like I could get a job in childcare if I want to. I miss working with kids and am excited to see if I can get hired as like a substitute teacher or something with young children. But, I can also just do babysitting if I want to I think.
Stewart owns every season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and we've been watching it every night. I'm so glad I have someone to geek out with!
... back to Sydney. We went out for dinner – Thai again, really good.. – as a farewell to Fabian and Doro, the German couple, who were going to fly back on Saturday.
The weekend was quite unspectacular apart from the fact that I moved from Joe’s place to Dave’s and I finally got my stuff together (tax file number, bank card..) and was pretty much good to go. Oh and – another night in the van! Quite adventurous.. I was the first to try the so-called ...
... quite reminiscent of the North-West coast of New Zealand in many places, the Twelve Apostles rock formations being strikingly similar to the pancake rocks we'd already seen. It was this that brought home to us just how wonderful NZ had been, despite any weather grumbles. Over there, the scenery remained stunning no matter what the weather thanks to the towering mountains everywhere. Out on the Ocean Road, without the Southern Alps backdrop it fell a little bit flat for us ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia graeme_sarah... evening. We immediately got a good vibe from Melbourne just from walking around the streets. The comedy that evening was a sketch show done by a group of 8 uni students called Occupation Ugly. It was really great - each sketch was about a different occupation including a policeman, soldier, party shop owner and psychiatrist. It was hilarious and really well put together for a group of students. Afterwards we basically just headed back to Jo's flat ...

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia katfoe... for a while. The cool breeze felt good as we sat, talked, and people watched. Eventually we got off our bums and walked around some gardens. Later, we met up with mom, dad, and Mike back at the airport and went to celebrate Christmas traditionally- with Chinese food. Since it had been warm all day, it didn't really feel like Christmas, but somehow Chinese food with the family helped. We flew to Perth.
