... beach again as it was such a nice day.
Walked to Marjan Forest Park and hired bikes and rode around park. Some pretty steep hills but awesome views from the top of the park and heaps fun going back down.
Went back to Fife for dinner since it was so awesome and so cheap and had tripe and roast veal.
Fife is some of the best and best value food I've had in ages. Especially compared to most of the other touristy places in Split
Split, Croatia richlum... down a little. We put on our raincoats and walked into town, risking getting drenched. It ended up not being too bad but started pouring again soon after.

So after three days on the beautiful island of Hvar, we did not go to the beach once. We did not see any sun until it peeked out for a few minutes an hour before we left. The only good thing was that those were the three days Andre had a cold/flu so even though it was a bummer he was ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia mdaa... something quiet. This spot is exactly what we were hoping for! There are only about fifty people at the campsite, which means that it is private without us being the only ones at the campsite, which seems to have been the trend lately! We bargained with the lady at the desk and paid for the cheapest spot but were able to park in the most expensive with the best views…they are unbelievable. Sailboats are going past now and we ...
Seget Vranjica, Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Croatia armajor7... really not swim so off we went. Refreshing .... yes very refreshing. Definitely not the warmest warmer I have jumped into, actually quite chilly. But hey we did it, we were freezing, and our chest still hurt to breathe.

Port of the night was Hvar. They had a fortress that acted like a lookout and had some really nice landscape shots so Benny and I made our way up there. A little wander around town and a nice hot shower to get the salt out of the hair. We then found ourselves a ...
Split, Croatia davechowie... at the old town on the way to check it out as the the campsite was 2km away in Trogir (another 2km!). The town is really lovely, lots of little bars and restaurants but EXTREMELY slippery tiles. I saw this man almost fall over and was starting to giggle to myself then i nearly fell! Its like walking on ice. I tried 2 pairs of shoes and they were as bad as one another!

So to the campsite we went. Probably the worst one we have stayed ...
Trogir, Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Croatia emmasadventures... sour faced Latvians who couldn't crack a smile if they tried (and we did try to get them to!). The local wine was in never-ending supply, and we teamed up with a German couple, Carl-Heinz and Maria, who were as up for a laugh as we were. The scenery was still beautiful, perfect for island cruising, although next time we're hiring a yacht, for sure.
Trogir, Croatia roamingmonk... a delicious meal. It was packed out for lunch, crammed with locals getting progressively drunker and therefore louder with their singing. We sat at a table with a couple of young Croatian guys who suggested we eat the local delicacy bakula. Taking their advice we ordered it along with some other fish dishes. The owner of the restaurant appeared a couple of minutes later asking 'do you realise what bakula is?' 'Yes', we replied, 'we were recommended to try it.' He ...
Split, Croatia guykb... On our first night we began to explore the quaint streets of Omis discovering everybody knew everybody and seemed to love Australians. Dinner was at the local pizza place, just for a change, complimented by our first Croatian beer (half a litre for $2AUD!!!!). Sadly Sharmane didnt like the beer but quite enjoyed the shot of Croatian brandy shouted to us by the next table (another smile and nod). We spent our first day relaxing and exploring more of the town ...
Split, Croatia sharm... voted Republican, you're sharing a political pillow with people like Mr. Jordan. Despite the fact that he shook my hand and said, "Congratulations, you've graduated!" when I told him we had quit our jobs to travel, there was something two-dimensional about him. Alli and our new Australian friend, Jac, were not too fond of Mr. Jordan, so on the overnight ferry ride to Split, I was often prompted to hold a book over my face so he wouldn't see me. The boat finally arrived ...
Split, Croatia the_stammsSometimes I have to remind myself that this blog needs updating and that it won't get done by an angel, unless of course Tut, my angel, gets to it before me. We've put a few countries behind us since the last entry and have changed our approach to travel somewhat. From Austria we dipped back into Germany to visit Munich along with a day at the Dachau concentration camp. I won't even try to put into words the thoughts on my mind after that day because I've read books, seen ...
