    ... St Catherine knew from the age of 12 that she wanted to be a nun and once she became one, she played a pivotal role in Rome. St Catherine's skull and her thumb are on display in this church. Her skull is covered by a mask (thank God!) but the thumb is displayed complete with skin and nail- gross!! We were not allowed to take photo's inside this Church, and men had to remove their hats, as a sign of respect to the Dominicans. Next stop was the main piazza of Sienna ...

    ... train ticket checker told us we were not on the correct train. Were they going to throw us off? Feel sorry for us? Yell at us? Oh the anxiety... I couldn't deal!     ... Vescine di Paladin and we had a little tour of their barrel rooms.
