... clicked with a couple from Melbourne Chrispan and Amy. They were in Florence for 17 weeks with their two boys, 4 and 18 months old. They were lovely down to earth people which made the day even more enjoyable. We had our group of 8, a mother and daughter from London, another couple from the UK and an older gentleman from the states, along with the 3 of us. ... little over the top but then that what makes it all so fascinating and, after all, we are in Italy!

After here we strolled down to the river Arno which runs through the town to see, of course, the famous Ponte Vecchio.

This place is truly fascinating with its narrow cobbled streets, classic Tuscan buildings complete with terra cotta tiles and shuttered windows, history and art around every corner and tourists by the thousands.

... of red wine, followed by some beautiful pasta dishes. Mine was mushroom and truffle penne and Jodi had ravioli stuffed with Gorgonzola and topped with walnuts. Both were delicious. We found a place that sold Brewdog (Jason's favourite Scottish Beer) so we stopped in there for a couple and the guys behind the bar thought it was awesome (I don't know why - maybe because we live in Edinburgh) so they gave us free beers and shots. The only downside was when a guy got into an argument with a dog (people take their dogs everywhere) and started teasing him. The dog then barked for the next twenty minutes. After we left ...
