Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina juanita16... the town itself was almost desert. The season was over, more than half of the stores were closed, nobody in the streets, it was really strange. And there's nothing to do outside of the beach, which is covered with little sunshades for which you had to pay, so nothing very interesting. I also spent half a day looking for postcards without finding any. Let's just say that after a long walk on the waterfront I had nothing else to do, so I took the bus again.
Takk! Bueno y gracias!
Mar Del Plata, Capital Federal District, Argentina logb... on the beach walk which have nice and amazing view while eating. I stayed at Hotel Pergamino for 25 ARS. The reception is the most wonderful woman who gives out a lot of tourist information for free. The rooms are mixed with shared bathroom and definitely worth the stay. I took the overnight bus to Puerto Merydin to watch the penguin colony.
Mar Del Plata, Argentina canadiansmileyHmmm, Mar del Plata wasn´t exactly what I expected. It was recommended by Melissa in Puerto Madryn as a beach resort to break up the journey to Buenos Aires. I thought golden beaches, cafes by the coast... It actually turned out to be Argentina´s Costa del Sol - massive beaches of regimented beach huts with a few leather-skinned retired folk on deck chairs. It also wasn´t that busy, it still a month ahead of peak season and a bit windy. Well, very windy ...
Mar del Plata, Central Argentina, Argentina johnsa32... lion" make sense for the first time. In any case, we just spent our days at the beach and our evenings eating paella, steaks, and roast pig for our dinners. We found another branch of a local micro-brewery pub that we liked in Mendoza so we popped in there for a few drinks. It was always pleasantly busy, which was nice since the rest of the town was a bit deserted! Heading up the coast to Villa Gesell next!
Mar Del Plata, Argentina thelepkis... it was freezing cold and actually empty enough to enjoy the town. I was very surprised at how beautiful the city was. The water was crystal clear blue, like the Caribbean, and the city buildings and houses were interesting. We watched the waves crash nearly 20 feet into the air as they hit the rocks on a jetty, we saw, and smelled unfortunately, a colony of sea lions, then ...
Mar del Plata, Argentina theprochaskasWe arrived in Mar Del Plata on Monday 28th from Buenos Aires by bus, thank god this bus was only 5 hours and not 15or more. We had initally only planned to spend 2 days there but signed up for spanish lessons so we ended up staying for 5days. We didn't do to much other than the spanish lessons. We had 4 different lessons that ranged from 1.5hours to 3hours and we had thursday free because it was labour day. The lessons went fine but unfortunately we're not ...
Mar del Plata, Argentina m_d... to be honest, I didn't really do much on my first day in Mardel besides walking by the beach, sunbathing and reading books. Was as lazy as all the others here.. On Monday I was just hanging out on the beach and get a nice tan, so that you can actually SEE that I was on holidays! :-) I stayed at the hostel that night and had a few (too many) drinks with some people I met there.
