... and final destination, Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo. We visited the church in which he was baptized (even the actual font), and the house in which he was born. Also, of course, beautiful views. Then back to Lidia's house for meal she "threw together" consisting of three courses. Delicious!!! Tomorrow we leave early as Lidia will return to the shop and we will check in at our favorite hotel and my home away from home in Florence since 1995, Croce Di ...

... time here and things were somewhat shut down as you would expect for an Italian Sunday, but it was a nice visit. Back to the bus! At this point I noticed that even our bus had Italian flare, as the driver had rigged an espresso machine near the bus stairs. If I had more coordination, I would have taken a picture, but instead you'll just have to trust me and be impressed. We traveled about thirty minutes to Monte Carlo, Italy that is, and arrived at Tenuto ...

... see the beginnings of many of our everyday machines - what a mind that man had!, and Vinci is a picturesque little town surrounded by glorious countryside. The souvenir shop lady told me that Lucca was a good hour away, and checking with two older ladies sitting outside a bar, when I asked about getting to the autostrada, she shook her head and told me she didn't know - as if she never ventured that far - it was 20kms away. We watched for all the right signs and with only a few ...
