... Lucca Comics and Games Festival, one of the biggest events of it's type in the world, when over 500 exhibitors and suppliers, and approximately 250,000 people flood the town, most hotels and guest houses are sold out, many booked up a year in advance, Having had a quick look at the website, we reckon that a lot of the people that come, only leave their bedrooms once a year, and this is it. We seemed to spend most of the week packing up and cleaning the apartment ...

Finalmente! At the lounge. Caught 12.20 bus out to Malpensa. Took 10 minutes to walk to the Metro, catch the train and get on the express bus. So far so good. The bus drives through some awful suburbs. Challenge one. Italian chick for Qatar - and it was my fault for being in the wrong line - tried to tell me I couldn't take my 11kg hand luggage on board. She had to retract when I said I was ...

The bus wasn’t coming until 1 30 so we went for another stroll along the lakeside and took in all the views. Watched water planes take off on adventures around ...

... festivals, with the 3 day Autumn Festival starting on the day we arrived. We went into the city centre for dinner on Saturday and the place was heaving with bands playing, people eating out everywhere, pop up bars and restaurants all through the main plaza's etc. The boys loved it, but not as much as the girls who had another late night out ending up in a dodgy nite club called Choco-Late. A very clever name that one.
We went back in on Sunday for lunch and ...

Today we had the usual, fun Italian-style breakfast ( dessert first) that included all kinds of breads, rolls , cakes and fruits. They also put out out cheeses, cold meats and tomatoes. After breakfast we drove to Locarno, Switzerland. This was one more very scenic ride up more narrow mountain roads before driving along Lake Maggiore. The botanicals here are lush and varied. Beautiful hydrangeas grow here like weeds! Of course we have enjoyed all along the wonderful ...
