Highlight of the day for me was at the Hungary/Romania border, got asked for the bike docs by a Romanian border guard, I gave him an A4 receipt from the hotel in Brno (Written in English) he had a good look and than passed it back with a cheery "Thanks"

Headed South into Hungary, on the back roads, the rain has stopped, the roads are good and with very little traffic I've had a fun day. Bimbled along at around 60 mph just taking in the sites. Temperature in the high 20's so all good. Managed to get 390 miles out of a tank so I must be taking is slow!!

Today we headed to Godollo on the outskirts of town, which used to be the one of the summer palaces of the Imperial family. We took the metro to Ors Vezer Tere, the we hopped on to the HEV, the suburban railway. For a small add on fee, we were able to reach Godollo in about 45 minutes. ... We walked through the streets that were open towards the Turkish minaret, which is extremely skinny and tall, with 96 steps up to a lookout platform. I climbed up there last time I was in Eger about 20 years ago, so we skipped it this time- the spiral staircase is just wide enough for one person so groups have to go up and down in shifts.
