    ... you pay a tourist tax but that also entitles you to free public transport. We caught a trolley bus into the main part of town. On the way the bus got pulled over by the cops, that was a first. I think he got a warning because we were soon on our way. The town is really hilly and you need to take a train to go from one side to the other.

    ... We packed the bikes, packed our gear, and headed to bed for an early night, as we are leaving the hotel for our flight to Bastia, at 4.30 am. Friday We got up at 4.00 am, and the hotel shuttle took us and our bike boxes the 5 min drive to the airport. Our flight to Bastia was uneventful, just 55 mins, and we collected our luggage and bike boxes, and conveniently the bus into town had storage holds underneath, and we were able to put the bike boxes there for the 22 km trip ...

    ... which moves at a brisk 130km/hr and never seems to be jammed. However we were a little taken back at the first toll booth, after less than an hour on the road with the bill of nearly 20 Euro. On the way Mack comments how this town is great as it has a lot of history yet is not a tourist Mecca and every time they have gone they basically have the town to themselves.
