The option people returned. Spoke briefly to Tony who was furious. All he wanted was just a hot shower. I suspect they were all very cold. Readied for dinner.

... the Hammet Souq streets and its famous markets. Quite frankly, it was a bit of a let down. It seemed rather contrived and VERY touristy. Meh … I've seen much, much better.
By the time the call to prayer rang out at dusk, I was done in. We drove to my hotel for the night, the gorgeous Radisson Blu Hotel. I was given a lovely room with a view of the Mediterranean and promptly fells asleep. So much for fancy hotels.

This morning we visited the island of Djerba linked to the mainland by a 7k causeway across a shallow stretch of sea. The island is very low (15m max) & has many scattered houses between what were the oldest olive trees we have ever seen as with most Tunisian dwellings most under construction or semi derelict. This is a predominately Muslim country and as such no alcohol is served. Chezzy a splashed out and bought himself a fruit juice mix with an assortment of umbrellas and swizzle sticks. To console himself he bought yet another ice cream.
