... late but we arrived safely after a smooth flight at 11.45 - the airport at Barcelona is beautiful and massive. Finally got our luggage and found our lovely Spanish transfer driver who took us to our hotel Pulitzer right in the down town area. Lots of tourists here so had a quick walk around before back to hotel for a break. They do things weird in Spain - 'lunch' doesn't start until after 2.00pm so then ...

Set off to Spain at 7.30. Caught up in major traffic jam by Carcassone - over an hour to,get through it. Got to Figueres, hotel was shut. Walked to beach and paddled. Very busy. Got large kir royale and rechecked hotel - still locked up. Had paella and then went to camp ground... Camped... Next to a ...

This morning I got up at 6am ( I am practising getting up early for Sunday when I have to be up at 4am to be able to catch an early plane to Paris) and decided to make my way by metro to see the famous Sagrada Familia Basilica. 3 million people a year visit this place, and it can take a 2 hour wait in the hot sun just to buy a ticket ( By 11am when I came out that was what was happening, and the queue stretched all the way around the church to get to ...

Went for walk to the old Barcelona Arena (bullfighting) which is now a shopping centre with a rooftop viewing area of the Palau de Barcelona.
