... and then we ended up falling asleep for 2.5 hours. We were so, so tired from the lack of sleep on the plane. Unfortunately, our alarm clock rudely interrupted our slumber by reminding us that we were about to have a mock emergency evacuation plan. ... as we layer watched from above as they not only taken for money but robbed... The views from the top were breathtaking with the sun getting lower in the sky, casting a golden hue on the brightly colored buildings and the mountains in the background. The museum and even the empty fountains were truly magnificent. ... is the main street running through the city. And I think walking was a good move! Along the way we saw the remnants of a car crash, so I think us walking saved our lives (that's probably a little dramatic, it was just a fender bender on the other side of the road, and we may not have been in that car if we were driving anyway). ... it was the smart phone I paid $200 for last year for which I was simply going to buy a new SIM card--left in the San Francisco Bay Area. Maybe I will do without a cell phone though not sure that is possible in this day and age. And so far in Barcelona, I have already lost one pair of the 4 pair of glasses I brought with me!
