What a wonder we have seen today - Gaudi's Sagrada Familia in all it's glory, even in the gloom, cloudy and a bit drippy but not actually raining. The Wegeners had thoughtfully booked ahead and so we didn't have to join the 500 metre long queue (comprised of most of the rest of the world) but went around the back and were duly admitted at our appointed time. We had a tour with a gorgeous-looking Spanish lady who spoke ...

... to be complete until 2026 to 2030. We get off at the stop. It's jaw dropping. The weirdest & coolest building I've ever seen. The statues are square like figures & every modern type ideas for some one living in the 18th century. The biggest line for tickets ever. Starts at the front of the cathedral & winds completely around the block of the church & end again at the start. Stuff lining up all day, I suggest to Grant that we book skip the ...

... to finish the women's, I also eventually used the men's. There is a first time for everything! Truly, there was one poor fellow leaving as I went in, & everyone else in there was a woman... Flight was late leaving, as when we were all seated on board the captain announced there was a problem with one of the cargo bay doors and all the cargo had to relocated. Eventually landed safely in Barcelona & only about 10 mins late in the end. (Just after 3pm) We had ...

So much fun today. Who knew a 7 hour bus road trip could be this enjoyable. We left the hotel at 9 am in route for Barcelona. It started as a very quiet ride. Most people were sleeping. I couldn't sleep. We were traveling thru the mountains most of the first hour. Sometimes we were above the clouds. Have to admit at times it was a bit nerve racking. Guard rails only come to your knees. When your in a bus they seem even lower. The drop offs were hundreds of feet. Maybe ...

... performers really made La Rambla fun! We then boarded the good old tourist bus taking in more sights of Barcelona including the sea front! I never think of Barcelona as a beach destination, but it looks lovely and I would definitely like to lounge there one day! We got off the bus at the stop for the cable car to Castell de Montjuïc. The view from the top was spectacular. Barcelona is a huge place! In one direction we could look out over the city ...
