Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.

We leavevin the morning sadly from this totally wonderful hotel to resume our adventures on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Our lecturer is very good. He is slightly eccentric and goes on at great length at times but continually makes ...

The sun was shining, the wind blowing in our hair - it was shaping up to be a wonderful afternoon. Luca was good at pointing out the fancy highlights and Villas on the lake before dropping us off at Villa del Balbianello (built in the late 1700's) that was donated to Italy by the last owner after his death. We were able to tour the Villa with a private ...

... it had been moved at one stage which caused the clues to not make sense. People saying they had to get into the water etc. After almost an hour around the wharf and docks we almost gave up, about to head home we walked down the pier one last time and spotted it. It was so well camouflaged yet in plain sight. After we saw it, it was staring us in the face so obviously hiding in plain sight. This one was a little bigger with a ...
