... It also produced the Trabant a metal and plastic car used all over the Eastern bloc. The museum there is very well done. As we left town we passed this incredibly large VW plant. Now you know. Our home for the night was on a mixed use parking lot next to the downtown area and the town center...the lot was big enough for several hundred cars but you could here a pin drop at night. And, in the corner was a very efficient public toilet -stainless steel, clean and only one half ...

So after a very late night last night it was up early today to head out for a 9 1/2 hour excursion. We were headed to the spa town of Karlovy Vary- about 20 kilometers from the German border. Stood applying it in the street, there was no embarrassment by this point as I had ...

But never one to shirk a challenge, I wanted to climb the Sella and to claim at least one Dolomite climb as Bryan had said they are very different to Stelvio. We were actually doing the Sella Ronda or "around the Sella" which involved 4 climbs and passes and descents. It actually ended up being 2000 metres of climbing, much the ...

Stage8:Zwickau-Dresden 120km

Since last night I am in Dresden.
In the last blog, I mentioned, having arrived in Zwickau, but not how.
I struggled a bit to find the right road out of Bayreuth, but once the city is away, the problem is forgotten, or say better solved. In Bindlach, a smaller place, I stopped at a bike shop , to get an extra drink holder, plus a spare tyre, as the profile of the back one is not looking great. I am told, this special one should last for up to 10000 km, I am happy with ...
