    ... a few elderly get around on scooters, the kind my grandson Drew rides, a skateboard with a handlebar. You actually need to look out for the little kids because they come flying out of the alleys or whereever there is a place not crowded with people. Some as young as 3 or 4, some older than 65.     ... that Hyundais aren't built for European conditions - the mirrors don't tuck in! A cracking thunder and lightning storm follows, then intermittent rolling fog to entertain us over G&Ts and catching up on journals. Cooked our own dinner from the pasta and pesto we bought at Portovenere, followed by Paris Brest and fresh strawberries. Hmmmm. Its so nice not to have seen any media for three weeks.     ... nicer and a hot shower after our long trip was most welcomed! This was followed shortly by a walk into Nice, dinner and a stroll along the foreshore before crashing into bed about 10.30pm. Unlike FatCat, the sun here doesn't go to bed until about 10pm!!

    Our first few days in Nice have started pretty much the same as mornings in Oz with either a run or ride. Pretty stoked to get onto the bike and have my first ride on foreign soil! Can't wait to ...

    Today we are determined to get from Nice Ville to Girona via train. This sounds fun and we are set up with the benefit of a Eurail pass. This will be eventful, sent Nat off and I think she already missed her train, no way to contact her so fingers crossed she's ok.
    I'll live blog it considering there's no wifi.
