      It's such a beautiful sunny day that we spend many hours lying on the rocks and swimming. I show Grant and Katie how to break one stone using another. With our sharp stone fragments we scratch our names and initials on to larger stones. Katie starts a stone collection and builds up quite a count. "Good luck getting those through airport security," I say. Grant agrees with me that a bag of fist sized stones is probably a no-no.

      ... local neighbourhood, have a swim in the pool belonging to the block of apartments and do some food shopping before dinner in Saint Laurent du Var in a wonderful restaurant overlooking the port. I think this was probably the best food we had had since being away. It was lovely to spend some time with Lily before she and Jerome took off for their 10 day holiday in Barcelona leaving us the flat for ourselves.
