Rua da Malaposta, Estrada Nacional nm 1 Santa Maria da Feira, Northern Portugal, Portugal, 4520-506, 351-256-91-03-50
We drove through the rain and Jessica (sat nav) took us up into the mountains. When she wanted us to do a sharp hairpin bend that was impossible with the caravan we had to carry on to a dead end in the road. As the rain got heavier we had to unhitch the caravan, turn round and rehitch and retrace our route. Unfortunately we did it very ...
Braga, Northern Portugal, Portugal mikeandsuecuff... be a mere 6 hours later, combined with the realisation that Regua, described as "little more than a transport hub" in the Lowly Planet, was horrid. We don't usually pay much attention to the LP guides but when it pointed out that the Tourist Information office a mere 10 back-breaking, rucksack-lugging minutes from the station was 'marginally more helpful' than the one adjoining the station we had to concur on two counts that a ...
Lamego, Northern Portugal, Portugal warmAfter a night of heavy rain in which there was occasionally a raindrop heavy enough to splash the condensation on the inside of the tent on us, it stopped raining. We woke up, showered, got ready for a great hike, got our backpacks ready, and headed to the top of hill out of our campsite. Once at the top, it thundered. Then Kevin realized he forgot his sunglasses. We headed back to the car for the sunglasses and as the clouds looked really threatening, decided to wait for ...
Campo do Gerez, Braga, Portugal claesch... br> There are many dangers on the roads in Spain and Portugal - one being the "reasonable distance needed" to pass someone. There are times that the "passing zone" gives you just enough room to ruin everyone you meet's life. There is no way you could start passing someone and stop passing someone in the "passing zone" if you were going faster than 5 miles an hour. But perhaps they're meant for passing the ghost cows. <br>As we were driving through the area, there were a ...
Campo do Gerez, Braga, Portugal claesch...
Braga, Northern Portugal, Portugal jprotelli... Carlos, also opened a couple of wonderful bottles of wine which he makes. It was wonderful, and very fun to chat with everyone from around the world. After dinner we were treated to some great Port Wine from the quinta (aged 20 years). It was also great. I stayed and talked with a few of the guests for some time, and then off to bed. The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast, and then the couple from Belgium (who were the most ...

Braga is a very pretty little town a nice place to stroll around, although its a shame about the massive mcdonalds right in the middle of the centre square. Tommorow we leave to go back to Lisbon for two nights before flying to madrid on Monday. Hope you are all well, please keep the messages coming. Lots of Love xxxx
Braga, Portugal tammyjoe... us being able to walk as we couldn't get soaked as we would never have got dry or warm again. Eventually we decide to leave the park on thursday as we needed to warm up and dry out a bit, so decided to stay in Braga for a couple of nights. We wish we didn't have to leave so soon and ahve promised each other we will go back at some point. This did also unfortunately mean we had to pack our tent away wet, we really hope it is dry in Madrid. Lots of love xxxx
Ponte da Barca, Portugal antje.gohmannNorthern Portugal A spectacular train ride along the banks of the Douro river took us to Regua and Amarante in Nothern Portugal where we spent a few days camping; Just sitting around, taking walks along the river and through the vinyards. A perfect break from visiting cities. This is the area where Port is produced; so, naturally we had to sample the local speciality. Not many tourist make it up here and it was refeshing to find people couldn´t ...
