  • Had fun trying to get power on last night so di phones room service and asks them how toturn it on. Heaven knows what they thought when asked about power in room. But we did find out how to get working. After we got back from shopping di goes for a shower and can't get water coming out of shower head but luckily i managed to fix. Not sure who she would have called for that ...

Amsterdam.  The houses are narrow because taxes were based on how much street frontage you have.  The tops of the roofs have giant hooks used with pulleys to lift heavy prices of furniture and appliances to the upper floor of the house where they belong.  Each floor has one large window which is opened for the oversized object to enter.
