... free! Our plan tomorrow is to cycle if either there is no/little rain or if the forecast is good. Currently it says heavy rain all day and the wind is switching overnight to come from the NW which would make tomorrow absolute hell! The cycle trip was from England to Denmark and we have achieved that, tomorrow would only be the icing on the cake and we all know icing isn't ...

It was our first day cycling through Denmark. Our last day of carrying equipment. One cycle away from a comfy bed and a roof over our head. We left at 10am after a filling breakfast at the campsite. The wind was still strong but it was coming from the south so we were optimistic about the day. We followed national cycle route 1 which is the Danish equivalent of the North Sea Route. It led us along the main road out of Rudbol and then suddenly veered left onto ...

The museum first, it was sensational, brilliant interactive displays and a roof top terrace to look out over the two burial mounds with the church ...

... world. As I come from a long line of granite quarry workers and stone masons I would question that. In fact it was rebuilt in 1871 in red brick to replace one destroyed by fire in 1726 and FACED in granite.
There was great controversy about the re-building and ...

Denmark in search of the Vikings

All the official stuff over we set off fro Hamburg, destination Denmark. After a pretty uneventful 300km drive we came to the town of Ribe and checked into a very nice but expensive campsite. we are now operating in Krone as our monetary currency. 7.00 Krone is around 1.00 Euro so having got used to thinking in Euro we now need to divide everything by 7 then multiply by 13 to get Rands. Interesting mental exercises.
