... was worth the blood, sweat and tears (I fell along the way and now have a massive bruise to finish the trip). The beach was almost deserted with huge waves and beautiful yellow sand. We spent a while jumping in the waves and watching Andy trying, and failing, to catch crabs.

... to do a booze cruise, which was a loco time. In addition to boozin and cruizin, I have done a lot of boozing in Floripa. Every night between 7 and 8 pm is free caipirinha time, which almost always leads to about 6 more caipirinhas. He invited us all to his home for dinner one night which we were more than happy to do! His house is a hippy paradise which overlooks the lake, and while it took us way too long to find, probably because his extremely broken English was a bit of a language barrier and the directions weren't quiiiite accurate, it ...

... trails were all closed for the night, however, fortunately for us, one of the 'rangers' offered to show us around instead. So we managed to get a private tour along a permanently closed track and learn about the flora and fauna and the wildlife for free. This experienced, coupled with a number of free/cheap caipirinhas on offer by the various hostels that we had stayed in meant that Brazil was rapidly becoming one of our favourite countries that we have visited thus ...
