Today was a challenging day. After checking out of the hotel in Rust, we had an amazingly easy drive to the car rental area at Vienna airport. Our plan had been to buy bus tickets to Prague at the airport. Then we found out that the tickets have to be purchased online or from the driver and there were only 3 tickets left! Panic! We could not get the website to work on the iPad so Brian enlisted the help ...
... each spring to nest. So the townspeople have built platforms on the roofs of houses and commercial buildings so the storks have a flat place to build their nest. The town is also on the edge of a lake, so there is lots of marsh land and food available to them. Our hotel recommended a Heuriger (a tavern run by a winery) in another town. Wonderful two days in Vienna. Highlights - Spanish Riding School, viewing of Gustav Klimt's The Kiss and the Belevedere Palace, Freud's Museum, tour of the State Opera House. Weather a tad warmer than Prague but still only approx 10 degrees, hopefully Italy warmer. As you do in Vienna ...
... few games... not very easy without the bumpers but I managed to knock a few pins down!
Oberpullendorf is situated on top of a large hill and down the (very steep) road was Unterpullendorf! There were a few nice restaurants but even on a Saturday night it was like a ghost town! We ate at a very nice restaurant called Schmeydes which served a range of food from Pizza to Duck!
Our next stop is Hartberg which is rumoured to be a very nice hotel! Looking forward to ...
