... people. I do wish that waiters here would take their thumbs out of the meal when serving it.


Well, a bit of a ho-hum day today. Interesting and enjoyable, but not much to write home about. I'm off again very early tomorrow, a 5am pick up and a flight to Delhi transferring to a flight to Bagdodra and a 5hr drive up a very windy road to Darjeeling. Hope the trip will give me more to write home about!

A day on an Indian bus, to Lucknow

... road and we hit Kanpur the only major town on the route, and progress got real slow. After we had dropped into the bus station for a couple of mins and said bye to driver 1, we set off again and got stuck in traffic for nearly 2 hours.

We arrived in Lucknow at about 08:20 after 10 hours to do about 220 Miles, average 22 MPH, even slower than the trains. Not sure we will take the bus again if we can avoid it, they are not that safe ...

... on. Crossing under a large archway our driver turned and told us we were in India now. We had to register with the Indian entry office, which was a table and plastic chairs outside a building. The officer carefully and slowly filled in his book as we filled out our forms, then we both got stamps and were free to go.
