Today, we ventured out to find the national park in the Abruzzo mountains where there is a walk described as a fairy wonderland. We only have a description and vague location of the trail head, but we were determined to find it! And, we did!
It was a really lovely walk through a gorge and along a river. We only saw a few others along the way, so it was peaceful and quiet ( as quiet as we can be with these children!)
... br> By the time we finished lunch it was fairly late so we were able to score an umbrella and some chairs right on the beach. The kids enjoyed playing in the water. The adults enjoyed that the water is not freezing cold!! :)
After a few hours with each time we decided it was time to head home for our Italian home-cooked dinner.
Tonight will be an early night because tomorrow we have a long day in the car. We don't expect to be home until quite ...

Alyssa was pleased to present her tooth to me when she got up this morning. I guess the Italian tooth fairy will be visiting tonight. What do you suppose the Italian tooth fairy leaves for a nice clean tooth? ;)

... the streets at 7:30 pm. Imagine. A children's festival starting at 7 pm in the US! There were lots of kids and families out. Alyssa & Brendan really liked all the games that were set up alongside the street. Also there were puppet shows, flag throwers, a bubble artist, and at 10:30 pm a production of "The Lion King!"
Since we are not used to these late hours, we headed home before 11 pm! The kids, and adults, all had a great time.
... somewhere, my mom took me shopping, and that was really fun!
And then, I had amazing home-made food for dinner: carbonara, scampi, and tiramisł.
