I think we were on the road before 08:00 this morning. We had a very short uphill section from our overnight stop to rejoin the delightful road which runs over the Cisa pass, and then we were on our way. Again there had been a lot of rain in the night (once more with thunder and lightening) but it had stopped by the time we emerged. From then the …

... highlight of Stresa is to visit the islands in the lake. Avoiding the touts offering services in private boats, we purchase our return tickets to Isola Bella at the ferry station. The ferry leaves almost immediately and the short crossing is glorious. Regrettably the little island is swarming with tourists and most of the island is taken up by the palace and gardens of the Borromeo Family. We wander the narrow lanes and pop into Ristorante Vittoria in a narrow alleyway some ...

... next site just outside Pavia, "Camping Ticino" its Cheaper (not much) than the last site and with much better facilities, oh and there are people staying here, which we also forgot to mention, there was no one on the previous site - all in all a much better place to be...
