Tomorrow we have a fairly long drive from Pescara on the east coast, down south for about an hour before cutting across to the west coast to the city of Salermo on the Amalfi Coast. This city is Italy's window on Croatia. The city of Split is across the water and a ferry boat ride away. The Adriatic is quite lovely. It has the same lovely blues as the Caribbean and it appears that Europeans, especially the Brits, come down this way for the summer sand and resort life.
