Bienvenue en Suisse (Welcome to Switzerland)

... control recently has broken down, this was the perfect sign to follow, where I planed to cross the border to Switzerland.

Just arrived in late afternoon to Aosta, I was not only already entered to the italian part of the alps but also to the point of good bye. Here I decided not to spend another night in Italy and crossed the border to my homecountry Switzerland a hour later at Calle del Gran San Bernardo.

BIENVENUE EN SUISSE - WELCOME TO SWITZERLAND

Winter is coming.

There also was not a guard rail to be
found and as I reached higher altitude, I became a little nervous
looking over the edge to the valley over 1,500 feet below. Skiiers paradise and Jon's nightmare

... poorly marked. Half the streets in Europe are so narrow anyways; they all look like one ways. So this car pulls up behind up and blocks us in, sweet, it’s the cops. They tell us we went up a one way.... So we honestly tell them it was a mistake and we're trying to turn around. Then they ask us where we are coming from and how much have we had to drink? Here we go... We had 1 big bottle of beer each 2 hours ago, then split ...

Las Montañas de Francia

... Chamonix-Mont Blanc because of it's proximity to the city but there were also many from the UK and other places. Lots of Johan's friends from Sweden that live in Geneva were there for the weekend. We ventured up o the cafe-sundeck of the ski-resort and spent a good three hours there eating lunch and taking in the view. The weather was absolutely perfect...a light sweater, t-shirt and jeans was enough in the sun, but it definitely cooled down at night ...

Snowboarding

... mountain for Nikki, but in France it seems there is not always green runs. We went down a blue run, which looked OK, but Nikki was, well scared, and just when we thought she was doing well, she well, fell over and hurt her knee! Yes Dave and i did feel a little guilty. Lucky for us one of the girls in our room was a physio and she was able to bandage it up and diagnose it as a small tear. Lucky for us she was still able to get up the mountain every day. Did ...

Im so extreme right now...

Wow bloody wow! This joint is fantastic. Based in the French Alps there is stacks to do, paragliding, skydiving, rock climbing, mountaineering, hiking, mountain bike riding - so many verbs where the hell is the couch potatoing, TV watching, beer drinking? Yup so we've got to get active, get healthy. Now considering we have done little to nothing to get the heart rate up for months, and we have eaten buckets of curry, kebabs, pizza / pasta, all ...

France 2001

A week in Paris with my sister and friends. Kirsten was a superb tour guide taking us to all her favourite spots. Her French skills were useful as well. So many picnics in parks around the city. Baguette and cheese. Yum Then a week with the parents. Touring around Provence in the footsteps of Van Gogh and the Impressionists. Off to the Alps and the world's highest gondala. Wished I could have continued on with them to Switzerland but sadly my two weeks in France went too fast.
