          We awoke t be in Avignon and low and behold once again we had a vessel attach to outside our window. River cruising has become so popular that mown the river boats have to moor to each other at times and then the guests walk through the vessel closest to the dock to get to land, the first time this happened it was ,a bit off putting but we have adjusted to it. This town is known for hiding the Jews and Pierre's mother hid a doctor in the ceiling of her kitchen for 2 years and he was never found by the Germans,afterwards he became the family Doctor. Interestingly this town of 4000 people has several doctors 4 of which are physiatrists . Another of the groups visited a guides home that has been in her family since the war,she was able to show the people ...

We picked up our picnic supplies and had to walk up one very steep hill before heading to Fourges on the Epte River which is tributory of the Seine.           ... The crowds didn't seem too bad, and with the tickets I'd pre-purchased on-line, we went straight through the group entrance - no waiting. Minutes later we were walking around the lily pond, under the weeping willows, and over the famous bridge. You can't get a picture of it with no one on it - it's impossible - I almost did but the ominous security guard was going no-where.
