Horses, horses, horses

... dark even after. The stallions are for the first 3 years kept in the stables near Postojna, after the selection is done, just the best ones are not castrated, poor horses... the mares are used just for cart pulling, approx. untill 25 years old, after they retire ad they live happily in the stables till they are 32-35 years old. All breeding is done by insemination, no natural sexual pleasures, again poor horses... there is also a beautiful little church ...

... station and met up with Marko at the central station. I couldn't have been that late because we still seemed to have enough time to nip into a pub just outside the station for a quick beer...

I must say Marko's sister's apartment is pretty snazzy. A very unusual design with a sort of mezzanine with the kitchen and dining section, then a nice spot for tv and the balcony and I think ...

Many of the houses have been set to display old crafts, such as - making wheels, making barrels etc.

Franjo Tuđman

I'm cheating a bit with this entry as actually I was in Veliko Trgovišće, the birth-place of Franjo Tuđman, a few days ago... but I found this pretty good pic with me and the famous Croatian nationalist... well, I don't look so good, but Franjo does...

... sister very close to Slovenia. There is in fact a border crossing near by but it's only for people that work across the border. I still think I should have tried to walk across. Or just walked across the fields somewhere. One wouldn't even need a gps to know when one crosses the border... I suspect that one would get an sms saying welcome to Slovenia followed by a promo for whatever network one happened to end up on.

Ended up at Slavko's ...

I'm exotic apparently...

... gave me some Slovenian chocolate for me to remember him and Slovenia by. He was really sweet. Sandra had made us lunch too. It was so hard to eat though after eating so much at the neighbors. I forced food down though because Sandra had been making it all day and I didn't want to be rude. Her father gave me more of their homemade wine too. Sandra's cousin Tina came over for a little visit to say goodbye to me after lunch. After saying goodbye to everyone it was ...

... He take outstanding photographs and goes to outstanding places. He showed me his photos from Ethiopia where apparently you have to pay people to take their photo. He also showed me his photos from Kenya where he went on a safari and Tanzania where he climbed Kilimanjaro. The pictures were incredible. I would have thought they were National Geographic photos if i didn't know any better. After this we went for a walk around the town. There was a castle on a hill ...

... Before we started, the family came to say goodbye and wish us safe journey. My sister brought a gift that made a very big smile on my face. It was a small bottle of schnapps (she makes a damn strong ones!!). Just in case and for a cure she said :) She knew very well I'll need that :) Kisses to everyone and here we go....
