    Day 1 - getting acclimtised

... living! After lunch it's back on the road and finally we are on the D8, the Croatian 'corniche' which snakes it's way south towards our eventual destination of Dubrovnik. Too far for today of course! We wend our way though a seemingly never-ending series of coastal towns - some bigger, some tiny, but all with their own marina and most with at least one of the dreaded Autokamps - a testament to just how many motorhomes use this route in high summer and another good reason for ...

A great safe bay with monastry and marina , worth noting for return trip! On arrival in Krk we drop anchor outside to test if safe but end up picking it up and heading onto town quay as think we may go out and have few beers whilst inspecting the old town. Another lovely old town and good ...

... than Lopar where we were heading for! Anchor settled we cracked open the bubbles as it is still officially the anniversary. Unfortunately a windy night and little sleep - not what the forecast said! Quick swim to the beach and left promptly as the naked Germans arrived. So we lift the anchor and head off again - Krk thus time, with a convoy of day tripper boats behind ...
