... s not enough) all of the Euros that we withdrew from the ATM before entering Croatia were unaccepted in Croatia. Croatian currency is the Kuna, not the Euro. Surprisingly, at least so far, Croatia is a lot like Latvia and Lithuania. The accent is heavily Russian as is the general attitude. There is a general utilitarian flavor to things. Smiles are few and far between, so far. We struggle to say "dobrodan" (hello) and the stern faced recipient seems to say, "...no, no, no, ...
The Island of Pag
... same, so there really isn't much to tell. We were pretty much on lock down for two days. As you can see from our pictures the winds were really bad. I was so bored at one stage that I went for a walk along the water, but it was a battle with the wind nearly tripping me up twice ha. Oh well maybe we will have to come back to the island of Pag another summer to get the true Pag experience. Tomorrow the weather is meant to improve slightly but we are moving on to Plitvice National ...
Sun sea n snorkels
After a chilled breakfast n morning we headed along the coast to find a good spot to relax. This actually proves very difficult as everywhere seems to be just sharp craggy rocks before the sea.
It does however mean that the snorkelling is AWESOME!! some great bits of coral with kind of valleys running through attracting loads of fish. Got some great underwater pics (hopefully) in our quest to chase and terrorise the sea creatures! Just had to watch ...
Losinj island
Had a chilled morning at the campsite with a trip to the local bakery n cafe for breakfast. I saved half my chocolate croissant to dip into my ridiculously thick and delicious hot chocolate which is more like sipping a melted chocolate bar. Mmmmm! Nutritious start to the day :D
Then hopped on a bus which was to take us to the next big-ish island called Losinj. This took us across the sea on a ferry and then around some stunning scenery- very rugged, ...
Malinska snorkelling!
... but with toxicly orange pasta sauce which we then all had smeared round our chops for the rest of the day)
Time for a wander so strolled round 'town' for a bit and bought a proper snorkel. Woohoo time to test it out so back in the sea!! Got to see loads more with the snorkel in place, even spotted a cool electric blue swordfish eel type fish and a load of sea cucumber things.
Once shrivelled like a prune we headed back to camp to sort out dinner and chill ...
