After a delightful but busy week with Will & Angela in Dunfermline, & meeting up with friends it was a bit unsettling getting back to Campello. However bright sunshine & warm weather helped after snow & freezing winds!! Having our friends Peter & Sylvie in Campello has meant that we have been able to get away from the half mile of seafront hi-rise, in the Costa Blanca, & see areas inland. They have generously driven us around the whole district. The mountains along the...

The plan was to stay in Satungo and catch the train to Valencia which was 25km further south. On arrival in Satungo we were not overly impressed but we sought out the tourist information in order to find a place to park. The tourist office told us there was nowhere to park except in a camp ground 7km away which we then would not be able to get transport to Valencia. So we headed onwards through Valencia and to the south where we thought we could find a place to ...

Currently loving the 'dorm, its probably the most random and bizzare place to rep and although its a bit quiet at the moment having amazing nights out with the rest of the fantastic team we have here, still time to come and see me!!!
... crazy stairs. We where welcomed by a bunch of happy travelers that also found their way to El Potro, an autonomous community based on self organization.
At the moment only Jordi is permanently living here who keeps the project running. But the project is well known in the area so there's much local support and many ...
... 15 minutes to take pictures by the small river which had very little water in it and a lot of garbage. We got back on the bus and drove to Aleta to see an old church and that was locked soooo we went back to the ship and went to dinner but first I talked on the phone and managed to lose my glasses. Didn't realize it however until after dinner and then ...
Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands mamafeathers... to jagged rocks, slippery mud and cliff faces accented with a million seagulls (and their droppings...). We persevered up the majority of the trail until we got to a point where we were using ropes for balance as we went up steeper rock faces. Now I wouldn't call this a challenging hike, perhaps a bit technical but in flip flops it was HELL! We finally called it ...
Benidorm, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands sofenjonThese pictures are from me trying to take a photo of myself writing with my ancient feather pen from the Alicante market and from walking around Alicante on a tour of the the two cathedrals, San Nicolas y Santa Barbara.
The pictures later are from our visit to two little pueblos just outside of Alicante; Guadalest and Altea. In the little town of Guadalest is a beautiful castle ...

Dolores, Spain siscri... The museums and sights were too crowded for me again so I decided to just wander the streets. I like Barcelona...it's cool. Live there some time? Maybe. I hooked up with Vanessa, a seniorita I worked with back in Dublin. She gave me a bit of a tour of the city and took me out on the town. We ventured down to the beach while it was dark to see if we could spot some of the street scum who creep around on the sand robbing drunk people. She ...

I am now 44 and it is a poinent reminder that 'Life waits for no man'.
