... and steep, steep climbs....I doubt that stilettos are a big seller over here! We wandered and climbed and climbed to lookouts - miradouro - not doing anything in particular but just soaking up the great atmosphere. I really love this place, and could see immediately why Kate suggested this trip. Her Portugese served us very well throughout and it feels good to have one person who can communicate so easily - ...

We woke up this morning at the hotel at faro airport to be greeted by breakfast Portuguese style - including tarts. We travelled into the forum algarve, aocal shopping g centre so that we could get beach towels for our week here. We enjoyed looking around this lovely centre which was mainly open air/outdoor. Our transfer arrived at 1pm and drive us the 40 minutes to our house in Gale, near Albufiera in the algarve region of Portugal. We arrived to find ...

We arrived at the beach about 11.00am and we caught the 3.30pm ferry back to Olhao.

What a relaxing day. When we got back about 5.00ish we headed to the roof of our hotel to ...

Good start to the day and set our course for Portugal stopping off for a lunch stop at Isla Cristina, which is a bustling fishing port and town. They have good facilities for the fleet; plenty space. They must have some sort of nautical college here as well because the free fall lifeboat training rig was on the quayside. It was a bit rough looking in places with neglect in the rubbish dept. Though one guide book ...

Arrive Gatwick at 14.50 twenty minutes before Mo. Plane takes off on time at 17.10 arrive Faro 19.45 bus into town at 20.35. Hotel Sol Algarve good with lovely courtyard for breakfast, neighbourhood a bit run down though. Bit of a disaster with dinner, went to authentic Portugese local restaurant Adega Nova but didn't understand the menu and I land up with pigs liver. Managed to eat ...
