The event was to start at 8.30pm with a brass band, followed by free eats and drinks, before the formal opening of the exhibition. ... cable car station. We sat there on both evenings on a balcony right over the water looking out to the islands.

We had planned to go up the cable car as we wanted to go to Alpyland at the top which has a toboggan you can get half way back down the mountain on (how cool does that sound!), but we hadn’t realised the Borromean Islands would take the better part of a day, and they were a must see.

We got ferry tickets that included all 3 islands, and started off ...
