... Massive ravines and turquoise blue riverlets at the base. We managed to find our way over the causeway into Venice. Hello Italy!!! OMG! The hotel parking was a great intro to the Italisn way of life! We had to go in the exit- yes that's right ! Boom gate ? Don't worry just pull over, cause a massive traffic jam! We arrived after a dry motor all the way and Eric very pleased with choice of boatyard for the winter. Very professional and made to feel very welcome. Sad day as Sallie 1 had to go as she has perished so much we don't think she will blow up again -saggy bottom and edges with age! Now we have a few weeks to explore Italy and Slovenia before heading ...

... signs because they have a dramatic impact on the alpine economy in the non-skiing season. As we pulled up for lunch the bike belonging to the guy who had been tail-end-Charlie for the trip decided to develop an electrical fault and refused to proceed; so it and it's rider had to get into the backup van for the rest of the day. I volunteered to don the yellow reflective vest and take on his role, tagging along at the ...
