Southern Austria to Northern Italy! Last night celebrating the Octoberfest with the locals Marky and I drank beer and ate sausage. Half way through cleaning his plate, Marko realized the locals were peeling the skin off their white sausages !!! Oh well.! We danced with the locals until we couldn't stand up! We woke up to a beautiful morning in Velden Am Worthersee. The morning view from our room was spectacular. We headed down for brekky to find ...

A very wet day as forecast so very glad we got the long journey out the way yesterday as the sea state looks very choppy today. After a trip to the airport to clear in and become legal we take a hire car and head to Grada. An old town in the flats that we had thought about sailing to but given the weather we thought better to go by road! A tour of Monfalcone followed and we managed to get an Italian sim so we have wifi ...

Matevz our crazy driver stripped off to his jocks and climbed up the rock face alongside the water fall and then jumped off. Nearby, as were were crossing a rope bridge some kayakers showed us their rolling skills. From there we rode up into the mountains, but by then mist was ...

We arrived after a dry motor all the way and Eric very pleased with choice of boatyard for the winter. Very professional and made to feel very welcome. Sad day as Sallie 1 had to go as she has perished so much we don't think she will blow up again -saggy bottom and edges with age! Now we have a few weeks to explore Italy and Slovenia before heading ...

      Corvara Italy to Bovec Slovenia

... a good look at the scenery as we crossed the Slovenian border and entered the Julian Alps. We've got two nights here at Bovec, so tomorrow I'll be exploring the local roads on my own, with a ride up Slovenia's highest mountain and visits to some of the old WW1 forts in the mountain passes. But first dinner and some red wine to wash it down. I had my weekly "dry" day yesterday, so I'm looking forward to sampling the local ...
