I've been to a lot of ski towns in the Alps over the past five years and I must say the ski town of Chamonix was by far the best I've been to. I'm afraid I can't say the same thing about ski pistes. There were four ''domaines skiables'' and we haven't had time to explore all of them. So we decided to ski in Brevent Flegere and Les Grands Montets ...

... ice skating. The hospitality they showed us was amazing and we spent many happy hours sharing wine, tea and conversation with them.
Our chalet is gorgeous and very comfy we can see snow capped Mont Blanc from the front door.

... up and then down the valley taking us from Locarno back into Italian territory. The peaks surrounding this valley are snow covered with the snow line finishing just above the villages we pass through. ... road is goes nowhere, great tarmac and there are virtually no cars. Heaven for cyclists. What I didn't count on was Julie telling me to go ahead and climb it as fast as I could.
