... gate to regulate traffic flow, and you have to leave a deposit on the card. Therefore if you want to leave before reception opens at 8.30, as we did, there is no one to refund you the deposit when you leave early.

... up and then down the valley taking us from Locarno back into Italian territory. The peaks surrounding this valley are snow covered with the snow line finishing just above the villages we pass through. ... road is goes nowhere, great tarmac and there are virtually no cars. Heaven for cyclists. What I didn't count on was Julie telling me to go ahead and climb it as fast as I could.
