    Back in the car and on our way to Montepulciano Grant says… “Ok.. I think we are in Tuscany and the sun is shining… does that mean we can leave now?” Show this guy a movie with anything Italian and forever it will be quoted back to you! (For those who haven't seen it... Under the Tuscan Sun was the reference!).

    While I appreciated every aspect of Spain, even the scrape and scramble for consistent nurturance, I am really luxuriating in this heavenly banquet table in Tuscany. Room and board really is such, three luscious meals, all garden inspired Italian cuisine. This place is just as picturesque as advertised, but most importantly, the people, Julian and his sister-in-law Ali, are terrific. Easygoing, witty, and welcoming, they have made me feel right ...

    ... a day; some shops only open in the morning, others are only open for 3 or 4 days per week. Wanting to buy a few things, but needing to kill a few hours, we drove to Lake Bolsena about 20km away until the shops opened again. Lake Bolsena is another small but perfectly formed town with a castle and delightful square.
