... woke up and decided to spend the day around Pisa. We walked around and did a little bit of shopping, had pizza under the Leaning Tower, enjoyed some gelato, and had baguette, cheese, and tomatoes for supper! It was such a relaxing day, and we ended the evening taking a walk along the Main Street in Pisa and seeing everything for the last time! ... although after seeing so many now it's hard to remember one from the other sometimes. We walked over the only remaining bridge in Florence that wasn't bombed in WWII...Ponte Vecchio..built in 1345..with its unique style of shops that overhang the outside if the bridge....all jewellery shops selling gold and silver, one wonders with so many vendors selling much the items how they survive. ... Cinque Terre, five small fishing villages nestled in and on, the cliffs approximately two hours away from Livorno. We had considered travelling back to the Cinque Terre once our cruise had finished, to immerse ourselves in 'Italian-ness' for a week, but changed our minds almost last minute, so today we have to make the most of a place that has long been on our travel list...

Livorno is an hour and a half travelling distance from Florence so we got underway about 8:00 and after an uneventful trip we arrived in Florence and walked to Sacre Croce which was to be our meeting place and then Florence was ours to explore. ... located and confirmed our ticket for the following morning. Everything looking fine until we were informed that in fact, we had not booked a cabin for the night, rather we had paid for a cabin for the duration of the crossing lasting 4 hours. We explained that we would not have payed for 2 cabins to use for 4 hours. We were told that in fact they were all booked anyway so, we were out of luck. So why were our cabins free at 8:00am? Were people asked ...
